About Jackie Dragon, Senior Oceans Campaigner
A seasoned social and political activist, Jackie Dragon draws on her years of successful organizing experience with one of California’s fastest growing unions. Jackie most recently spearheaded an effort to reduce ocean noise pollution and deadly ship strikes on whales in the protected waters of California’s national marine sanctuaries, heading up the California Oceans Program at Pacific Environment. Jackie holds a Conservation seat on the Gulf of the Farallones Sanctuary Advisory Council.
Prior to her work as an activist Jackie served a stint with the Army Corps of Engineers as a Biology Technician in Oregon and helped launch an environmental Internet start-up as the Operations Manager of Greenhome.com. Jackie holds a degree in American Studies from Mills College.
