Taking runners from Big Sur to Carmel along Highway One, the nation’s first nationally designated Scenic Highway, the Big Sur International Marathon is the largest rural marathon in the world.
Sanctioned and certified by USA Track & Field, the moderately-difficult course will offer runners views of winding redwoods, California ranches and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
It will also offer some runners the chance to help create a green and peaceful future.
Thank you for considering Greenpeace as a charity partner for the Big Sur International Marathon on April 28, 2013. With your dedication and support, Greenpeace can help put an end to issues like global warming, the devastating destruction taking place in our oceans and ancient forests, and the dangers posed by nuclear and chemical threats.
